Behind the voices

Our mission is not to replace human guides, but to support a deeper, more mindful connection to the places you visit.

We believe that sharing historical facts , cultural norms and knowledge about the environment in a way of telling a story, we can increase cultural understanding and empathy while delivering relevant information at your fingertips.

About Jana

Jana is a storyteller at heart: as an actress and voice artist with a degree in African Studies, she fell in love with Namibia during her time as a radio presenter for a German station in Windhoek.
Today she is the founder of Exploradio, an expat entrepreneur, and a creator of audiobooks. Moreover, she is dedicated to sharing the soul of Southern Africa through a documentary series about innovators and trailblazers.
As a keynote speaker and a mother of two, Jana believes in the power of creativity and a "love for the process".

In essence, Jana is a creative visionary who blends academic depth with a narrator's soul. She uses expertise in African Studies and her love for storytelling to bridge cultures and bring hidden narratives of her adopted home to a global audience.

About Sij
While her official Name is Sylvia Hashimwe, the world knows her simply as Sij. A true multitalented force, Sij is a historian, hoist teacher, Youtuber, and a TV host. Her passion for Namibia's past and its road to independence is the driving force behind her work, making her an invaluable part of the Exploradio Team and representing the English speaking voice.
Sij is a dedicated polyglot with a Master's degree in Spanish and Spanish Culture, as well as an honours degree in History.
